On Monday the 6th April 2009 the minister for Justice and Reconciliation resigned from her position. She claims that she is not being informed of all decisions made in her ministry. Specifically her statement has to do with the case of Judge Gicheru. Majority of Kenyans who support PNU were outraged by the decision of Hon. Martha Karua to resign. Many thought that she made a very haste decision and that she will bring about a government collapse. “She should have sought more advice from her colleagues and should not have resigned without consultation with the president.” A reporter on NTV tonight said on Monday night. The country has not yet come into a good peaceful state after the post election violence, and the leaders are already causing more chaos instead of ensuring peace and reconciliation among the citizens.
On Tuesday morning Assistant Minister for medical services resigned in support of her party friend Martha Karua. He is the secretary of the political party Narc Kenya, of which Hon. Martha Karua is the Chairperson. He was following in her footsteps. There has been mixed reaction as to his resignation but we are yet to see more outcomes of this. The people think that these politicians are not sure of their decisions and should have consulted. All this was taking place while the president was on an official trip to Zambia. We have not yet heard from him but we are waiting to hear his take on this political mess.
While on a matatu a passenger “These two ministers have opened jobs for us Kenyans, we have no jobs so I will apply to the president for a position in his cabinet.
