In the American Edition of July 2009 READERS DIGEST article on somali pirates, Kenya's judicial system is referred to as being dubious. This is in reference to our agreeing to try captured Somali pirates that many countries are avoiding for fear of repercussions. Even the "mighty" USA freaks at the prospects of trying the lone hijacker they have in their hands, and "macho" navies escorting commercial vessels in the horn of Africa region have been known to free captured pirates out of fear. In the same article, Secretary of State Hilary Clinton calls on the world community to cooperate to help stop the piracy, and when Kenya responds to this call boldly by agreeing to try the arrested suspects, all of a sudden our judicial system in termed "dubious", when it is the only one taking such bold steps to end the piracy? Why don't the Readers digest take the pirates and take them to courts of their choice that are not dubious?
